A colored glass cup was made in the Roman Empire from ribbons of glass in about the 1st century AD.

  1. I don't know if you were aware that I'm officially a "glass artist" and work in "hot glass". This technique is called "warm glass", by comparison, but it's impeccably executed. I can look at any piece of glass and tell you how they made it. That does NOT mean that I can make it.

    1. I'm just amazed anything made of glass in the first century AD can survive until the present without someone dropping it.
