And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

A colored glass cup was made in the Roman Empire from ribbons of glass in about the 1st century AD.
I don't know if you were aware that I'm officially a "glass artist" and work in "hot glass". This technique is called "warm glass", by comparison, but it's impeccably executed. I can look at any piece of glass and tell you how they made it. That does NOT mean that I can make it.

ReplyDeleteI'm just amazed anything made of glass in the first century AD can survive until the present without someone dropping it.
