Good Lord!

No amount of money could tempt me to do this.

  1. (a) they climbed with a safety line - where's the balls in that?

    (b) somebody else built it, bolting and riveting up that high.

What happened to "no sky to high, no sea to deep, no muff to tough?"

    1. No.

My brother and I used to take 500 feet of rope, climb and repel off anything. If the vertical is not true, if the bimetallic corrosion got there first.

Yes, I would climb it for a million dollars but not less than that.

  4. I wouldn't do it for money. I could be shamed into doing it. My wife does that to me all the time. "well, if you won't do (insanely dangerous thing), I will just have to do it myself". When I was younger I might have done it just to jump off (with a parachute, for fun, not from depression).
