BLM decides to retreat in the face of building public anger over their forcible roundup of a rancher's cattle..

Looks like the ranchers have called in the cavalry.

I haven't covered this issue much since I'm not sure this is the hill to die on ( as they say), but it is definitely a good idea for the feds to back off at this point of risk.

Just watching the anger build, and people begin to come in from all over the west to resist this, meant the roundup of the remaining cattle wasn't worth the risk of open range war.

Ignoring the issue of the validity of the rancher's case, or indeed of whether anyone at all needs to follow the law since the government itself seems to think it doesn't have to in many instances, it is heartening to see Americans assert their God given rights against an increasingly aggressive and intrusive government.  More of that, please.

Hat tip: Wirecutter.

  1. Does the government want to fire the shot heard round the world over this? It's time for Barack and friends to be content with what they can steal and calm down EPA and BLM.

    1. I personally wonder how enthusiastic the BLM agents were for this job. The whole thing was no doubt very distasteful from their side as well.
