It turns out that all those sirens I heard at work on Friday were the result of a murderous crime spree by an illegal alien.

I'm amazed they captured him alive, which speaks favorably to the professionalism of our local police.  Yet another very sad tale of crime and tragedy that would have never happened if our own government would simply control the border, as we the people have asked them to do via our representatives in Congress.

Marcelo Marquez, the man accused to killing two sheriff’s deputies in California was in the country illegally and had been deported twice to Mexico — once in 1997, and again in 2001.

Marquez, 34, is accused of killing two sheriff’s deputies Friday during a 6-hour crime spree in northern California.

And Marcelo Marquez is not even his real name, it’s actually Luis Enrique Monroy-Bracamonte, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. ICE filed paperwork Saturday to ensure he is turned over to immigration officials if he is ever released, though that is unlikely.

“Monroy-Bracamonte was first deported to Mexico in 1997 following his arrest and conviction in Arizona for possession of narcotics for sale; he was arrested and returned to Mexico a second time in 2001,” the Sacramento Bee reports.

Monroy-Bracamonte was booked on two counts of murder, attempted murder and carjacking under the false name he gave authorities. His wife, Janelle Marquez Monroy, 38, also faces a charge of attempted murder as well as two counts of carjacking.

The USGS says the flow is currently about 160 to 230 feet (50 to 70 meters) wide and moving northeast at about 10 yards (nine meters) per hour. It's currently about six-tenths of a mile (one kilometer) from Pahoa Village Road, the town's main street.

The Democrats continue to inexplicably say the stupidest things

Appearing at a Boston rally for Democrat gubernatorial candidate Martha Coakley on Friday, Hillary Clinton told the crowd gathered at the Park Plaza Hotel not to listen to anybody who says that “businesses create jobs.”

“Don’t let anybody tell you it’s corporations and businesses create jobs,” Clinton said.

“You know that old theory, ‘trickle-down economics,’” she continued. “That has been tried, that has failed. It has failed rather spectacularly.”

As Ed Morrissey notes:

At some point, Democrats are going to have to come to grips with the fact that their front-runner is not just a lousy campaigner, but perhaps just as incompetent as the President from which they’re all attempting to run away at the moment."

Surprising how much of this comes to light.

The hoard was found in a secondary building in the sanctuary of Artemis inside a clay unpainted aryter, covered with a sherd of a black-glazed skyphos.

The presence of hoards inside sanctuaries is indicative of both the importance of coins as offerings to the gods and the function of sanctuaries as banks during the antiquity.
