These pictures of spem whales were taken by Dr. Peter Allinson off the coast of Dominica, who says he spends four days to a week trying to photograph the animals. Divers only use snorkels when swimming with the whales, so as not to disturb them with air bubbles from scuba tanks.

 






Look at that whale's eye!  Looks mean, and hungry!

  4. Got a tooth from one when i was 6, its a beauty, solid ivory, came from a beached whale, family friend who made scrimshaw gave it to me. They are huge teeth, one I got is 8 inches long, 2-1/2 at its thickest. He had larger, beer can size, lot of little ones, they were the whitest and least stained. Its a huge fish tell you that much.

  5. I wonder if rebreathers are still used - no bubbles for stealth. They are probably too mucho dinero
