A Classic

  1. There's a documentary on Youboob from Hal, telling his struggle getting the movie made, directing Burt, and the fears of the studio on the movies prospect.

When it began to rake in the moola, all fears were averted. It was like printing money. My mom and dad went several times to watch it, since it was a funny romp.

  2. No black TransAm in the poster? That car was as big of a star as the humans

    1. Ja, I was thinking one could Photoshop Pretti & Good's faces over Burt & Sally's and the sentiment is still the same.

  4. Guys stared growing mustaches and tried to emulate him. Women loved him, my ex was one of them.

  5. It was a great movie. I watched it again a few months ago. You are better off keeping the memories than watching it again and realizing how good it really was

  8. This movie was POS. A 90 minute Coors beer/TransAm infomercial sprinkled with stupid storyline and more situations that defy logic than any Fast & Furious movie.

Most of us liked it because we were 13 when we saw it. If you see it now it sucks

    1. Yeah, we need a remake, with Bud Light, Elliot Page replacing Burt Reynolds, and Zendaya replacing Sally Fields. Oh, and lots of electric cars! We need more of them onscreen.

  9. "Dey is no way you could be the fruit of my loins. The next time I see your Momma - I'm gonna punch her in the face !" Jackie Gleason playing Beuford T. Justice.

Anon 10:07 - chill. This movie was not meant to make you think hard or change your life. Just two hours of silly stuff that make you laugh out loud. Better this movie than current WOKE curriculum being pushed by movie studios

  11. A late friend of mine named Bill Rampley had a small uncredited part in the movie as the first cop who was relieving himself next to his car when they blew past right after Sally Field got in the car. Bill was a hilarious and intelligent guy. RIP.

  12. Its on Netflix, and OMG if you get a chance, watch it with someone who has never seen it before.
It was so so much fun to hear the people watching it for the first time, laughing their asses off.

50 years later and its still being talked about and remembered in events.
They are still doing the Bandit Run, where people leave Atlanta and drive a vehicle made before 1986, (when SATB 3 came out) to Texarkanna and buy a case of Coors and drive back, and when they get back, theres Diablo sandwiches and Dr Pepper for everyone.

I helped him rebuild his transmission when he got back, cause the trans in a 75 Chevy Blazer on 35 inch tires couldnt handle 18 hours of solid driving at 80 mph

also weird that the two most famous cars in the world, both had confederate flags on them. The Bandit Trans Am and the General Lee Charger.

If you ever get a chanve to see the movie in a theater again, dont pass up that,
