And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
OK, wise guy, I'll looking at acres of Broom Straw. Since cows won't eat it, and we *know* it's nutrient deficient (was a Tobacco farm before us), and it's hard packed RED clay. There is no 'top soil' to work with.
Anonymous at 5:06....Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever. I grew up on a dairy farm back in Wisconsin. 500 acres and we rented 3 other farms. This pic is very typical of what and how farmers, farm. Yea, I agree that this way is "hard" on the soil. But when you "no-till" you swap the plow for a glyphosate spray. And that my friend is magnitude times worse for the soil. And don't get me started on "organic farming"; that's almost as much of a unicorn as wind or soar energy.
Yep, another USDA idea that utterly fails in real life! 250 acre farm in SW Wisconsin. That soil does compact and somehow, you've gotta get it built up, loosened, besides the winter freezing.
