And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Living on Martha's Vineyard, got to ride the truck ferry, cause of driving a pick up, got first on, before any cars, one day some dumb-arse tried that but in the getting aboard direction just as the tail gate was lifted, the ferry would start forward same time, car went straight in after hanging up for a second, plunk straight in, barely a splash, paper next day said people inside survived. Weren't all that deep at the dock, watched myself, didn't see anyone bob up before the ferry turned at the jetty, maybe a couple minutes, figure they had trapped sir cause the windows where closed when the went in.
Looking at the shape of the license plate on that car, this isn't in the U.S. so (outside northern europe or Japan) all bets are off. One random thought: that car is going to land where the ferry is going, and the ferry will never be able to stop now until it touches the dock. If the water is deep the car will end up under ferry. If the water is shallow, the ferry's hull is going to crush the roof of the car.
The person lacks brains and likely does not need anything now.

ReplyDeleteAll the ferries I've ever been on, there's a safety gate that doesn't drop til the ferry is docked.
ReplyDeleteAnd this is the reason why.
DeleteHow many seconds did this idiot save?
