And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
This little guy looks like my first dog that I picked up from a pound when I was 18 and on my own. I chose him because he was alone in his enclosure and was the only dog at that pound who acted like he was glad to see me. How could I not take him home? We had 17 wonderful years together and I can't imagine a dog that had a freer life. We were blessed to find each other. I buried him here at the house 40 years ago.
