And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Remember when you would pull into a place like this and you'd hear, "ding, ding," to let the service guy know to come out?
Today's kids will never know about hanging out there with buddies, helping change tires, ogling girls who buy gas, the smell inside the garage of tires and burnt rubber. A kick from the past!

ReplyDeleteMy mother refused to pump her own gas. She went to a full service gas station until the day she died.
