  1. The image shows the historic Bulldog Café, a famous example of mimetic or programmatic architecture located in Los Angeles, California.

    Built in 1928, the cafe was shaped like a giant bulldog smoking a pipe.

    It primarily served barbecue, tamales, and ice cream to patrons.

    The original structure was located on West Washington Boulevard and was demolished in the 1960s.

    A replica of the building was recreated for the 1990 film The Rocketeer and later moved to the Petersen Automotive Museum.
