And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? Yep, probably before they discovered area rule was required to make it as fast as it was designed to be - the prototype was slow. They tacked some fairings around its arse and found a couple of hundred miles an hour.
Convair written on the side indicates that is so. One of my flight instructors flew one. Low Key was either 12,000 or 16,000ft above ground. Punch out below you won't make it.
Prototype maybe? Don't recall that much canopy reinforcement.

DeleteCorrect. This would be the YF-102 prototype. The wings and fuselage would have to be redesigned before it could even go Mach 1.
