And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Crossing the Columbia river bar into Astoria is one of the most dangerous marine environments in North America. The guys and gals that operate these boats are a special breed!
Severn class lifeboat, possibly the best in the world. The RNLI is a volunteer rescue organization that's almost 2 centuries old. The Canadian Coast Guard has 20 modified Severns built with aluminum hulls and various cold weather mods. Al_in_Ottawa
