  2. Colt Delta Elite 10mm. Based on the 1921 but renamed because it has an extra spring for recoil. I have an original production.

  4. The rounds in the trays say 45 auto. It ain't a 10mm.

  5. Either the wrong cartridges or the wrong grips. The DE was a 10mm.

  6. While it does have the Delta Elite grip panels, the slide, trigger and ambidextrous safety say "highly modified". Given the ammo beside it, probably not a 10mm Delta Elite. Colt never put front slide serrations or ambidextrous safeties on anything factory in the eighties, when the Elite came out. The original slide serrations were straight up and down and only on the rear of the slide, although they did begin to angle them slightly sometime in the nineties. Not a factory trigger, either.

  8. Anon 7:50 is correct. Just my preference, Decent irons great, beavertail great, no ugly rail under the barrel great, front serrations not needed, ambi safety not needed. YMMV.

  10. I saw the Delta Elite grips and my hand twinged. That is when I realized there was a lot that was not right. Anon 7:50 spelled it out.

My dad had an original Delta Elite that he had in a display case and one that he would shoot. I am not sure what all he did to it but he did change out the grips. I did not like shooting that gun. He sold it and got a Bren Ten. The Bren Ten had a longer barrel and was noticeably heavier with more comfortable grip.

  11. I don't think that's a Colt.

  12. I have my grandfather's M-1911 that according to the serial number, was produced in 1913. I have four of his original 7 round magazines. I recently purchased a brand new 10 round extended magazine. The damn spring is too strong that I am having a very difficult time getting more than four rounds loaded into the new magazine. The manufacturer replied that I need to load a few rounds, leave it for a while and then load a few more to get the new strong spring compressed a bit.
