  1. Overall, shaped very much like my Winchester model 71. (.348)

  2. Beautiful rifle. Marlin 39 or 1897 and I don't care which, I'll take it!

  3. My folks gave me the "Canadian Carbine" model for Christmas when I was 13. Must have at least 500K rounds down the tube.

  4. My first guess was Marlin 39, but now think like Anon 5:23 possibly a 1897. Beautiful rifle.

    1. I thought it was a Model 39 too. The long barrel/short magazine tube threw me off at the "get go". It doesn't look "big" enough to be a centerfire, but then again, there isn't a lot for scale comparison. It could be AI. LOL!

  5. I've always liked the look of a half magazine on a lever gun.

  6. It's a 97 and by looking at it, worth about $4k.

  7. I've got a Winchester 1894 Half Magazine Half Octagon in 30 WCF (aka 30/30) that by the serial number was made in 1912 and It's ready to go hunting right now.

  8. I got a 1957 39 Marlin, Mountie, 40 years ago. It's near pristine. Super accurate.
The wife was made in '57 also.
