According to tailor Richard Anderson, when Katherine Hepburn was a customer of Huntsman she, “liked her trousers about three sizes too wide, so they billowed like ship’s sails when she walked.” She famously hated wearing skirts (much to the annoyance of her studio) and said, “Any time I hear a man say he prefers a woman in a skirt, I say, ‘Try one,’"
I miss girls in skirts, too.
ReplyDelete"Try one," as a response, simply means "I don't care to be attractive to men." Your choice, I guess, and one increasingly made by modern women. Too bad.
I could see where on her the billowing pants would look good.
ReplyDeleteI too, miss women in skirts and dresses, and men in pressed shirts.
Katherine Hepburn was a weird lady.
ReplyDeleteBet she liked men in kilts.
