Yellowstone visitor, 23, Colin Scott, died after wandering off designated trail and falling into acidic hot spring that dissolved his entire body.
Water temperatures were at 400 degrees just under the surface. The search was called off when rangers determined that there was no longer a body to recover.
Yeeech. What a way to go. I guess the moral is to stay on the stinking trail!
I'm used to seeing temperatures over boiling but 400 degrees without roiling the surface? No no. That's a vigorous splashing boil.
