And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

While Apollo 11 May be the first to land on the moon, in terms of science, Apollo 17 was perhaps the best and most productive mission.
By Apollo 17, they had the mission down, had done the preliminary science complete and were starting to get into the more interesting projects.
Now we need the Russians just to get into orbit. What would they have thought then if you'd predicted a NASA where a critical mission (as outlined by the president) was making Muslims feel good about themselves? And if you have told them we'd need to hitch a ride with the Russians?
