States refusing to assist in Syrian resettlement have 315 electoral votes ( 270 needed to win).

  1. You can add Montana, Wyoming and Utah to the red list in terms of how they feel about the situation if it should come to a vote next year.

  2. The incoming Republican Gov. elect in Ky. has already said that he will do "everything in his power" to stop the Arabs from entering Ky. So you can add us to that list---Ray

  3. But in Kentucky, the state has nothing to do with resettlement. The state government turned all that over to Catholic Charities of Louisville. Short of calling out the National Guard, not much any Kentucky governor can do.

  5. Good intentions on the part of the red govs but they actually have no say... via Fox news... "scholars and legal experts acknowledge that governors have little if any power to stop refugees from entering their states, citing the Refugee Act of 1980 which gives the federal government the authority."
