It should further be noted that the document allowing the independent nation of Texas to enter the union allows it to secede if it should at some time choose to do that.
“We are uniquely situated because we have energy resources, fossil and otherwise, and our own independent electrical grid,” Smitherman told World Net Daily. “Generally speaking, we have made great progress in becoming an independent nation, an ‘island nation’ if you will, and I think we want to continue down that path so that if the rest of the country falls apart, Texas can operate as a stand-alone entity with energy, food, water and roads as if we were a closed-loop system.”
Other states would be well served to investigate the same, either on their own or in conjunction with the Texans.
That's why the Civil War really started. Are we going to repeat history again?
ReplyDeleteIf there is going to be a breakup, hopefully it will be peaceful like the Soviet Union.

ReplyDeleteActually that's one of those "too good to be true" myths.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately when Texas was granted admission to the Union, that part was taken out and we're just another state.
.......So far.
Dang. I wanted to believe that with all my heart. I love Texas, even though it's flat, and humid, and hot and cold in the same day.
