A quick update on hunt for the wild yeast.

Yesterday, the farm wife called at work, to excitedly tell me that the bowl of goo that we are using for the snare had mushroomed up to about twice it's normal size.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is the classic sign of the presence of the wild yeast!

This morning, I'm upping the ante.  I fed the yeasties with double  the amount of water and flour, and warm water to boot, to see what happens.  This could be the nuclear strike of yeast development, as the bowl itself is not all that big.  Over flow of goo could be in store, but I'll be at work (ha ha!).

Cross your fingers, we could be off to the races on the sourdough starter today!
