And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

File this one under "the internet is an amazing thing."
No nettles where I live, but the temptation to try something like this has been ignited by this little demonstration. So much fun stuff to do - but so little time.
I dunno why, but I find this just amazing. And if you think about it a bit, current rope technology isn't really so different in principle, it's just made with more modern stuff than nettles.
If we would learn all their skills, we would be in good shape.
