When even Slate notices that Obama is a raging narcissist, then you know that things are out of control with the Resident's ego. The amazingly named Emily Yoffe noticed the flames of self centeredness burning at white hot heat at the funeral of Senator Daniel Inouye, when the Obamanation spent an unbelievable amount of time discussing his family vacations as a child.
Emily states the following:
Someone needs to tell Barack Obama—it must get particularly confusing this time of year—that his own birth is not Year One, the date around which all other events are understood. His much-noted, self-referential tic was on cringe-worthy display Friday when the president gave his eulogy for the late Sen. Daniel Inouye, who served in Congress for half a century representing Obama’s birth state of Hawaii.
We on the right side of the political spectrum worry that the president, having slipped the bonds of voting and elections, will go wilding across the nation, destroying everything in his path. Perhaps we might also see the lapdog press, now that they no longer feel compelled to help their dusky God get reelected, exhibit a bit of that old journalistic independence, and report stuff like this in all it's nauseating clarity.
Or maybe it's just a bad day at Emily's desk over at Slate.
