Something that has irritated me to no end is the seemingly sudden replacement of the terms "BC" and "AD" in referring to the year with the odd and meaningless terms "CE" and "BCE" that apparently refer to the same thing.

Why create unnecessary confusion by changing terms everyone understands with something they don't?

Well, it turns out that a system that has been in general acceptance since 1000AD just isn't politically correct anymore, so the terms "Anno Domini" and "Before Christ" are now supposed to be "Common Era" and Before Common Era, " even though they still measure from the birth of Christ.

To heck with that.  I suggest we all resolve, for the new year of 2013 AD, if you will, to resist this politically correct idiocy by using the venerable old system whenever possible.   Resist we much!
