Now I love good cast iron as much as anyone out there, but this is just nuts!  I thought I was going bit overboard with two skillets, a griddle and a number 12 camp oven.

I stumbled across this amazing collection here.

I hear Barry says she has a "nice smile."

Oh yeah, and he can't stop thinking about "dat ass!"

Snowy roads, cold air, the car's heater running full blast with the window down.  Can you tell I'm ready for the fall?

The below view is likely somewhere in Vermont.

Traveling westbound on Shake Ridge Road, California, just after a wet Pacific storm has blown through.

Snow travel is always best followed by a hot cup of joe... in this case some fancy joe!

Mondays, they're like that.

Things I am liking this evening.

My original post on "sniper chicks of the Israeli army" is still getting hits two years later, so it is time to revisit the lovely but deadly lasses of the desert, otherwise known as the sniper chicks.  Beautiful in their olive drabs, but they will still take you out at 1000 yards!

The dogs are terrible beggars, but the fault lies with their owners, who are entertained by their antics.  Today I made omelets because the chickens produced eight eggs yesterday, and there are likely more now, so we needed to use them up.  Naturally, the dogs made their move for some, and the 15 year old sat up behind me and took their pictures.  The big Rhodesian is really funny because he gulps the food out of the air, and has great focus when he does it.  Here is the evidence, ( we gave him some pretzels because the omelets were too good to waste on the dogs, fabulous beasts that they are).

Almost out of the frame on this one, but the funny part is the patient face of the lab waiting on the right for the next pretzel ( I always alternate between dogs for fairness).

Great timing on the photo below, and I like all the teeth and red mouth showing as he wolfs that pretzel down.

Dogs are fun, it can't be denied!
Oh man, trigger finger is itching right now.

Tonight's sunset from the roof.

Saturday porch picture.

First, simple, friendly and a bit rustic.

Feet above the clouds

Things I'm liking right now.

A letter written by the gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson to his biographer, William McKeen, and inspired by the contents of the book.   To McKeen, it is a treasure that he has framed and put on the wall of his house.  Awesome all around.

Other great letters here.
