Sunday night freckles.

Apparently, polar bears, which global warming alarmists were recently warning us were going extinct, are now roaming about in Newfoundland, prompting the authorities to warn people to watch out and not travel alone.

Or travel alone, but with a trusty 45-70 on the car seat next to you.

How about some spring color?   Taken right around the house.

This one missed going into the 'cabin porn' post yesterday, but it was too good to let go

I love the idea of the remote cabin tucked away in some forgotten corner of the forest, representing the ultimate escape destination.  I like it better by far than any Caribbean beach or European cosmopolitan city.

For some reason the idea resonates with me even more if it is snowing.  Dunno why.

How big is Jupiter's moon Io? The most volcanic body in the Solar System, Io (usually pronounced "EYE-oh") is 3,600 kilometers in diameter, about the size of planet Earth's single large natural satellite. Gliding past Jupiter at the turn of the millennium, the Cassini spacecraft captured this awe inspiring view of active Io with the largest gas giant as a backdrop, offering a stunning demonstration of the ruling planet's relative size. Although in the above picture Io appears to be located just in front of the swirling Jovian clouds, Io hurtles around its orbit once every 42 hours at a distance of 420,000 kilometers or so from the center of Jupiter. That puts Io nearly 350,000 kilometers above Jupiter's cloud tops, roughly equivalent to the distance between Earth and Moon. The Cassini spacecraft itself was about 10 million kilometers from Jupiter when recording the image data.  What ever they spent on Cassini, the pictures alone make it worth the money.
Holy cow, check out these blueberry rolls!  That looks and probably tastes like a little bit of breakfast heaven.  The directions are over here, but be warned that they start from scratch, which is both good, and bad.

Take a deep breath and jump in and make some!

A CH 47 Chinook helicopter kicks up some snow landing at an outpost in the Shah Joy region of Afghanistan.

Another odd idea of what art is.

For his latest exhibition at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, German artist Wolfgang Laib poured over 30,000 piles of rice and seven piles of pollen to create one of his largest installations ever entitled Unlimited Ocean. Laib worked with several SAIC alumni during a ten day residency in October to pour each small mound resulting in an enormous grid that covers much of the expansive Sullivan North Gallery in downtown Chicago.

Who else would be tempted to run through there pushing a large broom in front of you?

Down in southern Arizona, it is always a good idea to zip up your tent before you leave for a day of hunting.   This guy didn't, and came back to find a Javelina had moved in to his bunk.

Little thing was probably tired of sleeping out in the sage brush, and couldn't believe how comfortable a nice cot and sleeping bag was.  Word is this one had been tamed by local ranch hands, which explains a lot.

Cabin porn

A bit of light, escapist entertainment.

Bill Whittle knocks one out of the park again.  Must see for any American concerned with freedom.

The USS Dewey, a guided missile destroyer, buries it's bow dramatically into 15 foot seas between Hawaii and San Diego.

I also like the jaunty, devil may care way the flag is flying.

From here.
If you don't believe in global warming, why, you must be mentally ill, claims this University of Oregon professor, Kari Norgaard!

Specifically, this "wanna be" Soviet commissar states the following:

Back in the good old days of the Soviet Union, those that didn't believe in communism were also seen as mentally ill, and hospitalized in a mental hospital, against their will, of course, but supposedly for their own good.

So, if we are to understand the professor correctly, this is the face that thinks that if you disagree with her on this issue, it will be to the mental ward with you, where you can be medicated appropriately, and otherwise re educated.

Once again, the global warmists reveal their true selves.

If we won't passively let them take our money and our freedoms in the name of a discredited theory, then they are telling us clearly here what we might expect.  I'm sure they think that they can make an example of a few of us, and the rest will fall nicely in line.

Wrong.

Self hating hags like this can dream their dreams of totalitarianism, but their rational for taking has been publicly discredited, and those they think of as 'sheeple' may have other ideas on who is going to get sheared.

Proceed at your own risk, Professor Norgaard.
