And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Whoa! I looked it up and a Mercury dime is now worth about 3.90 each.
715 ounces of silver per $1,000 face x $55/ounce = $39,325 for a $1,000 face value bag = $3.93. Another name for inflation, debase the peasant's money.
A pre 1982 copper penny is worth almost 5 cents melt value. Save 'em up! They are disappearing from circulation quickly same as the silver coins did in the mid 60's. Gresham’s law says that “bad money drives out good money” when different coins have the same face value as legal tender.

ReplyDeleteIn reality a Mercury dime is worth 10 cents. A paper dollar is worth 2.6 cents

ReplyDeleteAnd yet, the average citizen will vote for (either party) politicians to straighten out the mess. That's like asking wolves to go vegan.
