Autumn run up to Troxell's Apple Orchard to score some fruit

The gal working there gave us a free flat of D'Anjou pears.  She told us they were going to have Bartletts, but "the bears got them all."

Bears?

Anyway, a fine drive in the morning sun up to Montgomery Creek, and then home via Oak Run.

Fill a bag, a dollar to a dollar fifty a pound.

The orchard.  The trees looked like happy apple trees.

Back to Palo Cedro via this back road through Oak Run.  Now, the slicing and cooking begins.  I probably should have bought another ten pound bag and dedicated those for apple sauce.
