And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
One of the coauthors of "Trapped" is a good friend. I read parts of the manuscript for him. He and his son, with two others went into Sand Cave and got close to where Floyd had been trapped. He told me it is the only time he was scared in a cave. The breakdown has settled more and you can't enter at all now. They were afraid it would settle while they were in the cave.
My idea of cave safety is stay out of caves. In Texas they tend to be populated by Very Bad Things.
