And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Feel for you. Currently working on a replicating time shifter machine, aim is to bring my dog back so him and I are happy again. If I get it to work I will let you know, in the meantime cherish those memories.
My first Lab died over 25 years ago, and I still miss him…as well as the others who have come and gone since. Mark Twain was correct - the more I know about people, the more I like my dogs.
My last dog was named "Skipper." He went over the Rainbow Bridge about three years ago. I miss him every day.

As an aside, we now have FOUR rescue German Shepherds. The pain of losing Skipper will never be abated but the new dogs' love is wonderful.
