  6. I worked one winter near Hobart Mills, just north of Truckee, CA, where it gets mighty cold in the winter. There was a house in a little subdivision we drove through to get to the job that had clothes frozen on a clothesline for at least a week one time. We all got the biggest kick out of seeing those clothes hanging there, stiff as a board.

By the time the owner took them down I'll bet they smelled every bit as fresh as Jonna's clothes did.

  8. My grandma’s mom left Sweden around 1880. They lived just south of the Arctic Circle. When they settled in central Nebraska they said they had never been so cold in their life! BQ
