Green Butte Ridge near treelike


Snow depth at 7800 feet measured at 59 inches, 19 new since Christmas afternoon.
Look at it plastered on those trees!

  1. CW, I get the sense that Shasta is seeing a more snow this year? I follow Shasta a bit in the geological sense, given that it has a lot of volcanic potential. Steve_in_Ottawa

    1. Before the last few days, lots of warm rain but only snow up real high ( Shasta is just over 14k feet tall). The last few days has resulted in a lot of new snow as the storms are colder, and a decent pack has now built up. Very good for spring runoff and lake filling.
