And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Mt. Shasta Snow Report
Snow Runnels on Green Butte Ridge
Avalanche Gulch, pounded with snow. More shortly.
A wind drifted slope near treeline on Green Butte Ridge
Our snowfall up here in NCW has been sad. Last night 5" and then rain, what a mess. Things better get whiter or my river is going to be a dribble at best this summer. Upriver
I sent these images to an old high school girlfriend who lives on the other side of Mt Shasta. She replied:
"This is where we live. These views are from the west side of the mountain; we live on the east side, so the views are entirely different, but still snowy! The last view he offers of "the Eddys" and Black Butte had to have been taken from quite high on the mountain. Either he has a drone, is a real climber/snowshoer or is mountain rescue. The view of the Eddys is what we see when we drive "over the hill" (Snowman's Summit) to get to I-5. Snow slurry here today. No need to shovel/blow/plow."

In your depth-chart photo, which layer would be the base of a slide? the ice lense or the ground?
ReplyDeleteI'm no expert, but I'd wager it's the ice lens.
