And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
My Dad's first new car purchase was a '56 Ford wagon. He was 37 years old and he had Mom and three kids to support. Because of that, the Ford was pretty basic, with no radio or heater, as they were 'optional at extra cost'.
Still, the family had lots of great memories in that car. When it was cold, us kids would sing songs along with Mom. Who needs a radio to keep warm? It was a different time.
Al_in_Ottawa- I never drove a log truck that had anything other than drum brakes and never had a problem. This was all mountain driving in the Sierra, and a guy just needed to give the equipment (the drum brakes) the respect they deserved.
I would love to try out the disc brakes the new trucks come with. I'll bet they're a world of difference.
It looks like a ford, but it isn't, Mercury maybe?
