  5. Had a 47 in high-school, built like a Sherman tank. Small cubic inch straight 6, 225 or 230 cant recall now, column 3 speed manual, long bed. Good sturdy dependable truck.

    1. You hit all around it. It was a 235, referred to as a "Stovebolt Six".
      My dad had a '47 also, back in the late '60's but with the four-speed "Granny Low" transmission.

  6. I had a 1950 3100. Perfect cab and ran like a champ with that 235. I think if you put cleats on the rims it would have climbed a wall in granny gear. Paid $175 for it in 83. Sold it for $400 in 86 when I joined up for the Marines again.
