And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
When I lived in Japan, I got to know some folks who were really, really into the art of flower arranging (ikebana). That's when I found out that it's possible to earn the equivalent of a black belt in the art. Pretty cool.
When my father was stationed in Japan in the late 1950's, my sainted mother took two years of Ikebana lessons ... and ended with a "master's certificate." She then taught Japanese flower arranging for decades afterward plus volunteered arranging beautiful flower arrangements at the entrances of different art museums. I don't know what happened to her shears, but they were just like these.
Couple people around here (they know who they are) can use them for trimming up them big ol' yeller toenails.
