  1. That stone carving. Appears to be one piece.

    1. Consider the skill involved, the time it took to create, and the money it cost, all for a door decoration. Amazing.

    2. Not to reduce the cost-skill a fair bit of these were done in the early 1800 plus in cast plaster. Still amazing for "just" a door.

Once I visited the real Disneyland castle Schloss Neuschwanstein in Bavaria and saw them refinishing the "Marble" floors. Apparently even back then they used concrete and painted the marble finish on it.

      Still amazing the skillsets involved.

    3. I've done custom design work for this company for more than 15 years. They do hand carved and CNC projects all the time.

  2. This is a photograph of a historic, ornate door in Paris, often referred to as the "Left Bank Blue Door".

It is a classic example of Parisian architecture, featuring elaborate carvings and a distinctive blue-grey color.

The door is located at number 56, as indicated by the small plaque on the right.

  3. I wonder if they have large wooden beam on the inside for when the door is being assaulted with a battering ram? It looks that old..
