These have lots of uses - if I have the "chore" of opening many taped boxes I like these more than a box cutter. Yes, you can still cut too deep but these deal with thick stuff and straps better.
They are well made, and the folks making them care a lot about quality and functionality. They are really nice people too. (Hint: Never go drinking with em!)

A three finger grip knife, it helps when you curl your pinky and rest behind the pommel.
