And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Amazing to consider that a guy's entire career could be building one type airframe. The Herc entered service in 1956 and is still in production. God bless America.
Went to Farnborough in about 1980. It was a pretty good show. I think the A400 is quite a bit bigger than the C130 so, on paper, is a superior heavy lift option but one cannot deny the C130's magnificent history and capability.
Nope. You flying? Nope nope nope.

ReplyDeleteCamera speed matches prop speed - not ai.
DeleteA400M. Does everything the C-130 has been doing for half a century.

DeleteThe C130 doesn’t funnel cash to politicians through big Euro companies. That’s why the Airbus copy came about with a few improvements
DeleteAlso it kept European engineers occupied until they get replaced by all those imported African and Muslim engineering graduates
Deleteschwew...that was close
ReplyDeleteCleared for takeoff. Expedite, traffic on short final.
ReplyDeleteI want to estimate his takeoff roll, but I don't understand those runway markings.
Standard runway paint...threshold, 500' interval markers, and the accented 1000' touchdown markers.
DeleteImagine all the bells and whistles going off in that plane!!
ReplyDeleteDanger danger

The c130 is at the end of the runway. Where's the passenger plane going to land?
ReplyDeleteI'd, ah, expedite my departure as well given that Wide-Body coming down the glide-slope.
ReplyDeleteFarnborough Airshow. Note the crowd along the right side as things zoom out. Flying events are tightly scheduled and there's just the one runway.
