  3. I had one for eleven years but she died 2 months ago from cancer. I miss her terribly. She was the smartest animal I had ever known.

    1. It does hurt when your best buddy passes.

I hope we see them again.

  5. At our big Stock Show and Rodeo every year there is a working dog competition where they move a small herd of sheep around the arena. It's my favorite part of the whole thing and you can tell those dogs are living their best life. We should all enjoy our jobs the way those dogs do!

    1. I see a couple working dog cattle shows every summer. Smartest dogs I've ever observed. Yes, they're trained but some of the antics they do are not trainable. Just plain intelligence on the dog's part.

  6. I’ve owned Border Collies for over 30 years. Worked a 1/3 of them and the rest were pets. A neighbor who fosters dogs for the local shelter had a year old Aussie who had just had her front leg amputated at the shoulder. We adopted her 3 years ago. Aussies may look like Border Collies but are incredibly different. She’s quite the huntress and loves chasing down geckos and birds. She hasn’t a clue that she has a handicap. In fact, I can’t imagine what she would be like with 4 proper limbs.
