And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I've always thought that a fire look-out would be ideal...except that you can't walk out the front door and cast a fly into a pond or brook for supper.
I knew a woman who was 18 when she spent a couple of summers at a fire lookout. She met the man who would be her husband on Mt. Kilimanjaro, and lived on a sailboat in the Carribean, and said they had a an AR on board because of the drug runners. Last I heard, they had a sheep ranch in New Zealand. My dad Spent a couple of summers working for the Forest Service In Idaho, grubbing out trails and worked as a fire lookout for awhile.
Fresh air in a cabin-of-dreams.
