Can anyone think of a reason the National Weather Service needs to purchase 16,000 rounds of .40 S&W?  

Do employees of the National Weather Service even carry guns, and if so, why?   Are people that pissed off about bad forecasts?

    Target practice...have you any idea how much fun it could be to soot at falling hail?????
