For the first time in 18 years, the moon is closer to the Earth than at any time during that period. It is called the perigee moon, and it is in fact 14% bigger. It is even 30% brighter. Even better, and for reasons poorly understood by scientists, the moon looks much bigger anytime you see it close to the horizon and through objects like trees.

Therefore, now that the moon is super sized due to it's close pass to the Earth (14%!!), you can double super size it by checking out the view as soon as it begins to rise and before it clears the trees.
