And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Gus Grissom’s Liberty Bell 7 capsule, as it rested on the floor of the Atlantic Ocean, at 15,000ft . It was salvaged in July 1999, 38 years after it had sank.
Gus had bad luck when it came to space capsules. I recall him when I was a young boy. He was a great and courageous man, but not the best of luck.
