Bears and snow

It's late April, and it's still snowing nicely in the Sierras.   In fact, a guy I work with went up to his cabin last Friday in North Tahoe, and found this much fresh snow, along with the evidence of a very recent visiter.  That bear was likely no more than a half mile away when these pictures were taken, and maybe much closer than that.
The bruin was going straight for the stairs to the cabin in this photo.

  1. Yogi woke up and was looking for a picnic basket.

  2. You don't realize how big their paws and claws are until you see their tracks.
