Another poll goes horribly, horribly wrong

When scientists in the U.K. asked the public to name their new $290 million polar research ship, they expected the name of an explorer such as Sir Ernest Shackleton or a naturalist like David Attenborough to eventually be emblazoned across the vessel's bow.

'Boaty McBoatface' Dominates Poll to Name Polar Research Ship

By Monday morning, "RRS Boaty McBoatface" had almost 10 times the votes of any other name.

I just couldn't stop laughing at this this morning.  What a great way to start the week.  A picture of 'Boaty' below.

  1. Before seeing the boat the name sounded goofy. Now, I like it, it has a certain "Pixar" quality.
