It helps if you don't have to drive eight hours there and back to Bakersfield. Makes a guy appreciate the weekend.
I saw James Garner on Johnnie Carson in '70 and he affirmed that he was from Oklahoma! The fist three words he learned were; Momma, Daddy, and Bakersfield!....
As long as he just had to say, "Bakersfield."
