  2. The dreaded 40' no parachute, no rope drop?
Hope the air bag on the ground is inflated.
And water is quite solid if you are above 30' - thanks USN, I still remember that particular training exercise 52 years on.

    1. In the army it was 30'. Full kit, less boots. Swear to gawd I touched bottom.

  3. If that were me, I would be trying to get away from the deathtrap plane.

    1. Bring back the 46.

    2. Save time: if they bring back the 46, just strafe the survivors on the ground, and rig a self-destruct on that 70-year-old rattletrap collection of parts flying in loose formation.

  4. Looks like an extract to me. Going down fast rope is, well, faster. Can't climb a rope enough. They are both looking up, preparing to land aboard. Infil they would be looking downward for touchdown.

    1. You don't look up when you're going down and you don't look down when you're going up. The two in the aircraft are about to assist in boarding.

    2. Another vote for that.
This is practice SAR extract, not a drop-off.
