Spike Lee, and the Zombie jamboree.
And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Obama administration decision costs America up to 1000 manufacturing jobs. Hope and change!
The gulf coast may become permanently anti Democrat because of the lack of action of this administration in protecting it from the oil spill. If too many of these Cloward-Piven decisions keep happening, the midwest may also learn to loath the Democrats.
A plausible military option for dealing with the mad mullahs in Iran.
In 2007, did not the CIA tell us that Iran had abandoned it's effort to build a nuclear bomb? Oops, I guess they were wrong, and now have enough for two (2) nukes. One for Tel Aviv, and one for Washington DC. Every CIA employee even remotely responsible for the lie in 07 should be immediately fired and stripped of all benefits. It's political reports like this that will get one of our cities vaporized, and an example must be made.
This watch is for sale at Amazon for 87,000 dollars. But the real payoff is the comments, which you can read at the link, for true comedy gold.

Department of Justice official resigns over the administration's racist decision not to prosecute the New Black Panther voter intimidation case.
Just imagine what dirt will come out once the Democrats no longer hold the reigns of power.

Harrumpf! The first thing Obama asked about when he got off the chopper in Canada for the G20 meeting was the golf courses. Unserious, unfocused and unprepared.
The article at the link provides the best description I have seen of why the government has no business trying to "save jobs."

Man tinkers around, ends up building small fusion nuclear reactor.
Government officials tell state authorities to stop building sand berms to stop the oil.
Simply unbelievable. It gets harder everyday to attribute these kinds of decisions to mere stupidity, and easier to believe in some sort of government malevolence.

Can we keep our republic without leaders who stand on principle, without judges who follow the constitution and precedent, and without a people who educate themselves about the issues of the day, and understand their duty as free people to make sure that government serves them, and not the other way around? The article at the link deals with the question well, although I am not sure our age is so debauched as we might think. A short study of history shows that earlier generations had their faults as well. It is probably a question of where the tipping point lies.

Realizing that it can be several hours without seeing another vehicle, it's better to wait for someone to flag over for confirmation that this is the appropriate road. Halfway through a can of sardines and stale bread, I am suddenly aware of a presence at my side. Looking down to the left, I am startled to see a four year old girl staring up holding an aluminum pale and porcelain bowl. scanning the surrounding terrain reveals no sign of nomads or their Gers and it's impossible to determine from where she came.
1948 Buick Streamliner. Even today they could sell a pile of these. Like the Dodge Viper or Plymouth Prowler, every major brand should have a "concept car comes alive" vehicle that focuses on the "wow" rather than the practical. The publicity value alone would be worth it, but also for the sheer joy of making something like this actually happen. There would always be enough customers to pay a premium for the privilege of driving a limited edition piece of art. It seems the auto industry was far more vibrant decades ago than today.

As is wise when attacked by a sow grizzly -- although never when attacked by a black bear -- Berkey played dead, and the bear retreated. She attacked again when he first tried to get up, but he resumed making like a dead bicyclist until he was sure the bears were out of the area. He then got up and rode to his job at the Alaska Native Medical Center.

The Oil Drum is a first class resource for inside information about the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. This comment tries to make sense of the behavior of BP in it's attempts to plug the leak, and also sets out a worst case scenario for this disaster. Unfortunately, based on this analysis it appears that there is a significant chance of complete failure of the well itself, leading to the venting of the entire oil reservoir into the gulf. Sobering to say the least.
Last week I took a half day off work and drove over Meyers, Luther Pass and Carson Pass. There was a surprising amount of snow for mid June, but it is naturally melting fast. Below you see Mounts Price, Agassiz and Pyramid, left to right.
Below is a zoom of the massive cave on the right side of Thunder Mountain. Maybe this summer I will get the time to hike around the end of the mountain and into this opening. I have never heard of anyone doing it, although it must have been visited frequently since it is not far off a trail and visible to anyone who goes to Silver Lake. If I make it I'll post on it.

The first link is a good story to memorialize what happened in Normandy so long ago. Yet, the very ideas of National Socialism which we fought against then are now ascendent in our media, in Europe, and of course in the Muslim world. Evil arises again. So must the same good that led us through the storm those many years ago.

A visit is in order to the halls of Obamamania, to get a perspective on the current state of disillusionment over the O's performance. Click the link and don't miss the quotes from famous folk who lost their heads over The Man. Insanity.... or would that be O-sanity?
Also, check out the report from a hyper liberal about all the photos of himself O has put up in the White House. Sick.
