If as a part of electoral reform the boundaries of the fifty states were redrawn so that each state had a roughly equal population of 5.6 million people, this is what things might look like. I rather like the new look, although I don't think anyone could be crazy about the state of "Brownia!"
And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

This can't come soon enough. The quicker we take away this sorry excuse for politicians to take our money and our freedoms, the better.
And as a bonus, once the global warming idiocy is consigned to the ash heap of history, we can say goodbye to that horse's ass Al Gore. If I never have to see that charlatan's ugly mug ever again, I will be grateful.

One day ..... one day ..... after saying this in the STFU speech,
"We face a deficit of trust - deep and corrosive doubts about how Washington works that have been growing for years. To close that credibility gap we must take action on both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue to end the outsized influence of lobbyists; to do our work openly; and to give our people the government they deserve."
President Zero held a private meeting with K Street lobbyists.
I wonder what O was telling them? Certainly there couldn't have been any "outsized influencing" going on in that meeting, could there?
The truly shameless hypocrisy exhibited here is stunning. Does the One not realize how bad this looks? Could he do anything more to send the message to us peons that there is nothing he says that should be believed?
My favorite part of the STFU speech by President Zero is when he quite wrongly claimed that a recent Supreme Court decision would open the floodgates to foreign campaign contributions. Not only does the case in question absolutely not say that, as he must have known, but he himself disabled the software on his own presidential campaign's online contribution site so any foreign entity or person could send money without leaving a trail. In fact, he received many thousands from foreign sources. Remember all that campaigning overseas?
This to me is both demagoguery and hypocrisy of the worst sort. Not only did O commit a crime by purposely accepting campaign money from foreigners, but he now has the shameless gall to accuse, wrongly, the supremes of allowing others to do legally exactly what he did illegally. No one in the press has ever had the desire to address this issue, and we certainly can't think Holder will make anything happen.
If there were ever the pressing need for a reason for an impeachment, this could be one.

A truly excellent post from the anchoress that details many of the worrisome behaviors of our boy-president. I agree that the odd acts of O, if interpreted as done here, do show an increasingly delusional person. The pressure and demands of the job he now has must be crushing him, especially when you consider that he has lived a fantasy life so far, getting all the perks and accolades of prestigious jobs but without any expectation of performance.
Thats over now. The only question is if O can adjust. If not its will be a very long three years, if he can even last that long.

In this Charlie Rose interview it is claimed that President Obama complained that "the press is against me." Delusional if true. The only reason he got elected was the press's conscious turning away from his inexperience, his seedy associations with Ayers and Rev. Wright, and his lack of real accomplishment. No need to spend significant time on Matthew's leg tingle or Brooks sartorial love of the crease of his pants to illustrate the point.
If Obama had been given the same treatment any Republican gets, and especially the hate that was spewed daily toward President Bush, he might have a different perspective on this.
And since election he has indeed been treated as some sort of transformational figure, beyond real criticism. Now, when the softball questions start to get the least zing, or curve out of the strike zone even ever so slightly, we get this whine. Judging by the reception to his plan to freeze spending on a tiny slice of the budget, which supposedly will be front and center in the SOTU, he better get used to a tougher league, but still one that would be little better than the neighborhood little league to any Republican. God help the Chocolate Jesus if he ever had to take the Republican treatment.
I predict that the disillusionment with him will push the press well in that direction by the end of this year at the latest. There is nothing like the wrath of a lover scorned (Matthews/Brooks et al). It will be mightily interesting to see how he handles the press then.

This is a must read article highlighting the way some can pervert information to reach the result or conclusion they want. Global warming, anyone?
The police chief in New York City points the boney finger of blame directly at the O. Could the Democrats have done anything more in the heart of Democratic New York to ensure that Chuck you Schumer gets thrown out next election?
On a related note, could they have set themselves up any better to be blamed for the next high impact terrorist attack? From holding the trial of KSM in the City, to Mirandizing the Knickerbomber after only 50 minutes of interrogation, to kowtowing to the king of Saudi Arabia, to apologizing for America all over the Muslim world, it's a comedy of feckless errors that will guarantee that if the Muslims are indeed successful in a major attack, the people will turn and take it out on Democrats in ways that may go beyond the ballot box. Maybe thats part of what all the retiring Democrats see coming. Maybe thats why the smart ones are jumping off the train so they can get themselves under the radar before the storm hits.
If I were a Dem politician and had O's ear, I would speak forcefully to this issue. This idiotic behavior by the party in power has the potential to result in a fatal blow to their ability to get elected, perhaps forever, and to boot it is a totally needless risk to take. I see no political downside what so ever to being at least as tough on the terrorist types as GWB, and there is indeed some benefit to being even tougher.
If the Muslims attack big time and successfully on Obama's watch, the country will almost certainly, after O's series of frankly stupid acts as listed, deem Democrats untrustworthy with the country's security, and to blame for whatever damage the terrorists inflict. It could be the end for them, and I'm not sure anyone in charge sees it coming.
What fool at the White House inserts this picture as the first in the current White House flickr stream? Think I'm kidding? Check out the real thing www.flickr.com/photos/whitehouse/4291192735/
Update!
Already:
Update 2!
Crikey! Its worse than I thought. This photo on the same day a retiring blue dog Democrat Marion Berry lets loose with this:
Berry recounted meetings with White House officials, reminiscent of some during the Clinton days, where he and others urged them not to force Blue Dogs "off into the swamp" of supporting bills that would be unpopular with voters back home.
"I've been doing that with this White House, and they just don't seem to give it any credibility as all," Berry said. "They just kept telling us how good it was going to be. The President himself, when that was brought up in one group, said, 'well, the big difference here and in '94 was you've got me.' We're going to see how much difference that makes now"
Its all about Obama's awesomeness.
